Whirlwind of the holidays

Everyone survived the trip to “The Greatest Celebration in the World”. I am of course talking about Crouton Planet!!!!!!! The Thousand Island falls were spectacular, and the Salad Shooter was everyones favorite. I wil try to post some pics as soon as I can.

Since I dont have any pics with me, I thought I would plug something else that I think is good. I know its kind of early to think about that holidays. Walt Disney World started the ‘Grandma got runover by a reindeer’ crap the day after Halloween (skin still crawling). In the last half decade, the holidays have meant one word to me…..Hospitals. Either being there, trying to avoid them, forgetting about them or reminding myself that I or any of my friends and family are not in one. As time moves on it is much easier to deal. But it still lurks in the back of my brain.
So there I was lurking through important ‘research materials’ when I can across the launch of Penny Arcade’s 3rd Annual Child’s Play charity. And it made me feel good. A tad bit emotional, little bit squinchy. I realize that I have been on sort of a tiraid about donations and such, but this is the a charity that is beautiful in its simplicity. Gabe and Tycho have set up a charity “Wishlist” through Amazon.com, you just pick a childrens hospital from their map and buy a gift. That gift is delivered to the hospital. No middleman, no adminstration costs, just a game to a sick kid.
And in their own fashion, here is why they did it:

Getting Squinchy again.
