September 7, 2003 – Waren Zevon passes away from an extended battle with mesothelioma. The statement extended battle may be incorrect because he was paranoid about Doctors.

He stated “I may have made a tactical error in not going to the doctor for 20 years.” on the David Letterman show. Zevon performed “Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner”, the last public performance of that song.

Music comes and music goes. I can listen to a song only so much then I get bored and listen to the weather. That has never happened with Warren Zevon.
